Bible Verse Journal

I love journals! I’ve been during these days working on a special journal. One about bible verses. I found out it’s like therapy to me, to create, decorate and study my favorite bible verses all at the same time. Here is a little bit about what I’ve doing.

Bible Verse Journal

Journaling is part of my life. I always love to take notes, record memories and thoughts. I started this little journal, writing my favorite bible verses.

You can follow my account on Instagram to see more ideas! Follow Here!

I take my time to decorate every entry and I do this in daily basis. I use papers, stickers, ephemera, and much more. I give some space for creativity. Then, I study those bible verses that have been a strenght for me and start writing them. These helps me with verse memorization too!

I got this small, lovely journal from Yarisi & Co, Follow Here! She has beautiful products like assorted papers, envelopes, decorated journals and more!

What about you? Do you like to record your favorite verses of the bible? This is a great idea for a gift or to have at hand a journal when you need some strengh from the Word of God.

One project I wanted to start during this season was making my own prayer journal. But I wanted to make this project a “do it yourself project”. I wanted to take my time, step by step and enjoy the process.

While I work in this prayer journal I want to share with my readers the process and how I’ve been doing until I finished. So, here is a little bit about how you can make your very own prayer journal.

Make your own prayer journal:

First, I started decorating the front of the journal. What materials I used?
I got a notebook at Dollar Tree for $1 on my last trip to Orlando, Florida. Isn’t that amazing? To find so many things at super low prices at the Dollar Tree Stores?

Well, once I got my notebook… I found on Pinterest a free printable for bible journaling and got an extra sheet printed at my local school supply store to decorate my journal. I found out this printable so lovely and beautiful that I decided to use it for my journal.

I bought an assorted patterned paper pack at Yarisi&Co, that I wanted to get for a long time ago. Finally bought them! This pack comes with more than 50 assorted papers (different patterns and sizes) perfect for crafts projects.

I had some washi tape that I also used to decorate the journal.

Finally, used some paper pieces and tabs from Illustrated Faith that I already had. Here is a picture, you can see how I used all these materials. I just got creative! At the end of this post you can see all the links for the materials 😉

The tittle of my prayer journal is “Jesus, my first love”. Oohh… I also used some stamps at the end from Illustrated Faith too.

The bible tabs I used includes words like “love, passion, believe…” I thought they were very aligned with what I wanted to create. I just love the final touch they gave them to my journal.

As you can see, this is just the front of the journal. In the following posts I will sharing the other pages and how I decorated them. Stay tuned for the development of this project. Hope this motivates you to create your very own prayer journal. Also, I hope this gives you some ideas on how to start it.

Using paper pieces for bible journaling

When we refer to the bible journaling, we talk about the practice of using art and creativity to illustrate the faith. Many people already know about this subject that is now quite popular. There are countless tools to use. Among those tools are the pieces of paper or die cuts.

I want to talk to you and teach you a bit about how to use the paper pieces for your bible journaling time. The pieces of paper are my favorite because you do not need to be an expert or professional in art to illustrate your faith beautifully. Check out these 5 ways I use the paper pieces in my bible:

Using paper pieces to write a verse or a note:

You can use these pieces to write on them. A bible verse, a note, a date. It’s on you!

Using paper pieces to decorate your page:

Simply get some washi tape or glue and star decorating your page with these colorful and beautiful pieces.

Using paper pieces as bookmark:

I use them as bookmarks also. Some of them include tags, and pieces that are bigger. They make a perfect option as bookmarks.

Using paper pieces along with washi tape:

Make your page beautiful and interesting by using together paper pieces and washi tape.

Using paper pieces as bible tabs:

Some of the Illustrated Faith packages comes with some bible tabs too. You can write on them. Or just use the paper pieces you want to identify a specific topic or page.

Paper pieces resources and examples:

Paper pieces or die cuts, ephemera, tip-ins:

There are lots of options in paper pieces, also you can look or search for “ephemera” that is used for journaling, junk journal, planners and more. Hope this post leads you to use paper pieces for bible journaling. It’s super easy! – Bible Journaling should be easy, enjoy it! 💛

What do you want Jesus to do for you?

What’s Your Number One Prayer Request? – If you were allowed one request of God what would it be? Often in the gospels, Jesus asked people:

“What do you want me to do for you?” Matthew 20:32

What do you want Jesus to do for you

How do you think you would answer Jesus? I know that I could easily come up with a list a mile long on things I would want Jesus to do for me.

Some things I would request would be for practical needs, such as enough money to pay our bills, put our children through school and support our missionary friends.

Other requests would be more for our spiritual needs, such as the salvation of family members and friends, a greater understanding of the Bible and the boldness to speak to others about Christ.

Now there is nothing wrong in bringing all of our needs to God.  In fact he encourages us to do that.   Many times, especially in the Psalms we are told to pour out our heart to the Lord.

“Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us.” – Psalm 62:8

However, as I contemplated the answer to my question, that if we were only allowed one request what would it be, I know that I would answer in the following way.

“Lord Jesus please satisfy my heart with your steadfast love today, so that I do not go looking for it in other people, my circumstances and in other things.”

What do you want Jesus to do for you 2

God created us with a need to be loved by him.  When I pray that I would be satisfied by his love, I find that I have a peace, joy and hope that goes beyond my circumstances and seems to keep my other needs in the right perspective.

I find myself resting in his control of things and not being as anxious, as I know that if I am loved by him, he will work all things together for my good and his glory.

I pray this prayer often through the day and am surprised at how he lifts my head up off my circumstances to remind me that I have an incredible treasure and that is the love of God.

I would encourage you to try the same prayer for yourself and see how he warms your heart and strengthens you for whatever lays ahead.  His love is steadfast and will never let you go.

How To Make The Best Use Of A Prayer Journal

Throughout the years I have always liked to keep and write reflections in notebooks. I never had a diary, but I have been writing about special moments and not so good throughout my life. Several years ago I decided to buy a few notebooks to write down my prayers, among other things. Understanding that it is necessary to keep a record of those constant prayers in which we wait patiently for a response from God.  Today, I want to share with you how we can (according to my experience) make the best use of a prayer journal.

How to make the best use of a prayer journal

First, one of the best uses we can give a prayer journal is to keep a record of our prayers. When we set our hearts to pray sometimes for multiple requests, we can forget what we have prayed for. Writing our prayers is the first thing we should do.

Second, maintaining a record of answered prayers is one of the uses for our prayer journal. Many times we are in public places, in the church or any other place and because there are no limits to God, He can speak to us and answer our prayers at any moment. We must write it down.

If you are a prayer person, you have already experienced the request of prayers from others around you. In my prayer journal, I have a section where I write down those prayer requests that people make me daily.  So I do not forget any of them as I’m compromising myself to pray for them.

Also, we can take in our prayer journal those victories that God has given us through prayer. We can include a section of worship, praise and give thanks to God for all of them.

All of these methods or practices have helped me to make good and best use of my prayer journal. I’m still learning in the process. This is not about perfection but about a relationship with God.

I have created a free printable prayer journal for all my subscribers! – If you subscribe to receive the posts of my blog you will receive in your inbox a free beautiful PRAYER JOURNAL that includes:
