Beautiful Affordable Tools For Bible Journaling You Need To Know

Beautiful Affordable Tools for Bible Journaling you need to know:

  • Washi Tape

One of my favorite tools is the washi tape. Right now I have a box full of them. I have gotten them in different places, but the most economical strategy to get the washi tape for me has been in Ebay auctions. In just one month I’ve got more than 10 washi tapes for less than $ 1.00 each.   Also, I got several washi tapes in Etsy. But if you are looking for tapes with beautiful patterns at a low cost, Ebay can be an alternative.  Here’s a search in Ebay.

  • Paper Clips

At first I did not use paperclips. I did not see a great use in them for bible journaling, but only for marking the pages. However, I discovered that I could buy ribbons and fabrics and decorate my paperclips in a very easy and affordable way.  If you are like me, you love having your beautiful bible in every aspect. Sure, you’ll like to try this strategy. Where do I get ribbons and fabrics? At the nearest discount stores. With half a yard of ribbons or fabric you can decorate a lot of paper clips! I have some decorated paperclips in my Shop HERE!

  • Die Cuts

I love the die cuts! These are an easy way to make journaling and add a little color and personality to what you are doing.  My favorites ones and that I’ve always used are those from Shanna Noel and her brand Illustrated Faith. A few months back I was able to get like 5 packages at an excellent price with a discount coupon at DaySpring.  Every month I always checked when they are with additional discount and I take the opportunity to buy them.

  • Watercolor Paint

The watercolor painting I’m using right now, I bought it at Walmart. Here you can get several painting options from $ 4.00 to $ 11.00. Which I consider quite reasonable, since you can mix the colors and obtain different tones according to your need. To this I also added a set of brushes. That cost me no more than $ 7.00.  Here I made a search for you to look for more options: HERE!

  • Colored Pencils

Ok, in this I have to tell you that I have like 3 boxes of colored pencils from different stores. It is that the colored pencils are easy to use that you have to have several and many colors of course.  I got them at, Walmart and Marshalls (Yes! at Marshalls).  One of the places I always buy something for my office is at Marshalls. Many times they have available sets and boxes of colored pencils, markers, washi tape and beautiful notebooks (I always end up buying at least one).

Here’s a Pinterest search I did with posts that includes tons of bible journaling tools and supplies: (you can follow my Bible Journaling Pinterest Board for more ideas HERE)

How trust will bring you security free bible journaling cards and tabs

How trust will bring you security

During this season in my life, where I have gone through a few difficult processes, this Psalm 91 verse has given me strength. In the same way that I have received the consolation and promises of God for my life, so I want to share this feeling with you.

This psalm, assures us that if we remain under the presence and cover of our God, He does not assure their protection and care. There may be difficult and even dangerous moments for our lives, but there is a promise from God to protect us and to guard us against such circumstances. Psalm 91:1 says:

He who [a]dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand].

Being honest with you during these weeks I have needed so much of the Father’s coverage of my life. And while I decided to look for His presence I received the rest I needed so much.

I have been able to experience what it is to trust in God when things are not going well. One word I can share with you today is security. The security we need can only be found in God.  Are you in need of security today?

I remind you that if you remain in His presence He will take care of you and nothing will hurt you.

Live Free and Serving God – Week 3

Live Free and Serving God

Hello! We are in our third week studying in depth the theme of freedom through the word. During the first week we were talking about how God has called us to be free in Him. We were also learning some tips about how we can memorize the word of God to be recorded in our hearts. Today, in our third week we will be talking about the verse in 1 Peter 2:16 and how we should use our freedom granted by God.

Live Free and Serving God

1 Peter 2:16 says the following:

Live like free people, but don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do evil. Live as those who are serving God.

We know what freedom means for those who have been saved by grace.  God sent his only Son to give His life for us, to make us free from sin.  Now, Once we have been rescued and redeemed by the sacrifice of Jesus and His blood shed on the cross, what is it for us to do with that freedom?

The word teaches us that we should NOT use our freedom as an excuse to do wrong. On the contrary, we must use that freedom to serve God in a good way, willingly and passionately. We are exhorted to use our freedom wisely.

To use our freedom wisely implies that we must submit ourselves under the powerful hand of God and in obedience to do His will. Therefore, our freedom should not be used to rebel against God. We are freed from sin, but say the word that we are servants of God. Before we were ruled by sin and the enemy of souls, but now we are ruled by God.

Live Free and Serving God 2

What does it mean to be a servant of God?

The word records in Isaiah 42: 1-4 that God choose a servant in whom his Spirit would dwell and who would bring to this world a true judgment. Thus the verses say:

“Here is my servant,
the one I support.
He is the one I have chosen,
and I am very pleased with him.
I have filled him with my Spirit,
and he will bring justice to the nations.
He will not cry out or shout
or try to make himself heard in the streets.
He will not break even a crushed reed.
He will not put out even the weakest flame.
He will bring true justice.
He will not grow weak or give up
until he has brought justice to the world.
And people in faraway places will hope to receive his teachings.”

We are also servants of God here on earth. If we are free by grace, then we can do right doing good works as God expects of us. Says Colossians 3: 23-24,  In all the work you are given, do the best you can. Work as though you are working for the Lord, not any earthly master. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, who will give you what he promised his people. Yes, you are serving Christ. He is your real Master.

Isn’t that amazing? Christ is our real Master, and we are serving Him now! Live like free people, doing good works!

Knowing the Purpose of Bible Journaling

Knowing the Purpose of Bible Journaling

When I started practicing bible journaling I did not even know how to start. I felt a bit weird when using my bible to color, draw and paint. Maybe you’re going through the same thing. However, I gave myself the task of seeking information and knowing the primary purpose for bible journaling.

While I had my moments studying the bible, I always had the habit of writing my bible, of making small drawings and of marking it. But I never thought it would come to this. And it is really fascinating what we can do and the creativity that can emerge in us if we do it with the real purpose.  Yes! The bible journaling has a particular purpose and today we are going to discover it.

Knowing the Purpose of Bible Journaling

  • To get closer!

Approaching God every day should be our main purpose while practicing Bible journaling. If we go with this in mind, surely we will have a supernatural experience with God in His presence. Our approach should always be “looking for His face” and not looking for the materials with which we are going to use.

  • Deepen the word!

Our second purpose must be to seek deeper in the Word of God. The Bible says in Psalm 119: 105:

Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

The word of God guides our way, so going deeper in the word will help us in our daily lives and give us firmness in our spiritual life.

Knowing the Purpose of Bible Journaling 2

  • Help in prayer!

I believe that when we set our hearts to fill ourselves with the word of God we will have words in our mouths to pray, intercede and cry out to God for others. Prayer is a key that opens doors in our life. And while something of creativity comes into our mind, we must take the word into consideration to pray first.  As says in Psalm 54:2

Hear my prayer, O God;
Listen to the words of my mouth.

  • Get creative!

After we have read, deepened and prayed, I am 100% sure that your creativity will surface in such a way that you can clearly represent what you have understood or what God has whispered in your heart.  God is our creator, God IS the creator of the heavens and the earth. Our creativity flows from His Spirit.  Genesis 1:1 says: In the beginning God (Elohim) created [by forming from nothing] the heavens and the earth (AMP).

Let your creativity be directed by the Spirit and enjoy every moment in HIS great presence.
