Encouraging children from an early age to be grateful and thank God is important. God teaches us in His word that we should always give thanks. That is part of our Christian life and worship to Him.
In these days I have been evaluating several books that we can use for this purpose. Involving children in reading is vital. The first book that our children should know is the Bible. The bible is inspired by God, useful for teaching on many topics. However, there are several books inspired by the Word of God with beautiful illustrations that our little ones can use. Below I will share with you at least 5 books that can be of great help to you.
These books can help you to teach and encourage your kids about thanks giving:
These books can be part of your library and you can use them at any time. Giving thanks to God and having a grateful heart is one of the best teachings we can give to our children. We must encourage them to be grateful all the time!
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His compassion and lovingkindness endure forever! – Psalm 107:1
The Bible says in Genesis 2:2 that God rested once He completed his work. We also are allowed to rest and take the day off!
And by the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested (ceased) on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.
The word “rest” means to cease work or movement in order to relax, refresh oneself, or recover strength. This means that resting is powerful and necessary for us! If God rested, why we can’t rest too? It’s a healthy habit that will help us to continue with our every day chores.
The bestselling author Robert Morris shares with us in his book “Take the Day Off” this truth and the benefits of it! How we can rest and how beneficial can be.
Reading this book has been of great benefit to me. Being able to understand the nature of rest and how God did so. This book is part of a study group on Facebook. During the month of November they will be studying this topic further.
God rested, you can do it too! Join the Faithwords Book Club! #Faithwords #TakeTheDayOff #RoberMorris

“What makes you different makes you GREAT” it’s what says this book. Each page of the book gives you characteristics of different kids. Teaching that each kid is unique and special.
This book, beautifully illustrated by Tim Warnes, provides us with different scenarios in which children can relate. This book teaches that we are all different and that is very good because God created us that way.

Seeking God is the wisest thing we can do in these times. The bible exhorts us to seek him with all our hearts. And those who really seek him with the heart are found of Him. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to [walk with God and] please Him, for whoever comes [near] to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He rewards those who [earnestly and diligently] seek Him.
Seeking God is a matter of the heart. That much needed search begins in our hearts. That search must be of ALL heart as established in the bible. It means that it must be our PRIORITY. The word of God says in Deuteronomy 4:29:
But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul.
That search, that desire to seek the face of God will lead you to great blessings for your life. Seeking God will:
lead you to life
lead you to forgiveness
lead you to all blessings
lead you to provision
lead you to protection
lead you to understanding and wisdom
lead you to renew your strength
What stops you from seeking God? Do you think God is not a priority in your life? You haven’t given God the place that really belongs to him? What would you do to look for him with all your heart and start living those abundant blessings that He has for you?
I assure you that when you put God as your priority your life will change!

Having a reading time with our children before bed can be a challenge. Today we live surrounded by many distractions that do not edify. Having a time to share with family, or between parents and children before going to bed is healthy. Having a devotional time or reading the word of God is even more so.
Today I want to share with you this wonderful book that came to my hands “Night Night Devotions” by Amy Parker. Since I was a mother, I was passionate about reading and now I want to instill that practice in my son. He is still very small, but starting now to read him devotionals before bed is excellent for him.
This beautiful book (because it really has beautiful illustrations) contains 90 devotionals inspired by the Word of God. It brings to light key biblical passages in a beautiful and very structured way. Excellent for children between the ages of 3 to 7 years.
Not only does it give you the opportunity to read them, but you can also encourage and practice a prayer time with them. This book includes devotions of both the old testament and the new testament, it really is very complete!
