3 Bible Verses That Will Make you Stronger as a Woman

I firmly believe that every woman must know who she is and where she is going. In my years as a woman who serves the Lord I have learned that I must fix my eyes on Jesus and see myself as He sees me. In addition, I must desire the dreams of God in my life. We want all that in some way, right? Today I want to share 5 Bible verses that will make you stronger as a woman. That will help you to achieve God’s dreams in your life.

3 Bible Verses That Will Make you Stronger as a Woman

I want you to know that each of these verses will help you to be a strong woman, but not like Wonder Woman or anything like that. A woman who seeks the wisdom, direction and dependence of God receives the strength of a wild ox as the word says to face any crisis, trial and storm.

  • JAMES 1:5

If any of you lacks wisdom, he is to ask of God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.

Every woman need to ask God (who is able to give us always) wisdom.  The wisdom which may be had by asking “in faith” is not intellectual knowledge or philosophical speculation, but spiritual understanding of the purpose of trials. (New Spirit Filled Life Bible).  We needs God wisdom for decision making and for discernment.

  • ESTHER 4:14

…And who knows whether you have attained royalty for such a time as this [and for this very purpose]?”

Maybe you’ll say “what does Esther have to do with me?” Really a lot. I’m fascinated by the story of Esther in the Bible. Personally this story ministers a lot about my processes and the purpose of God in my life. Esther when she became queen never thought that God had a great purpose with her: to intercede for freedom for her people from death. What a big and important task! Right?

On her shoulders was a great responsibility and she very wisely carried it out following the plan of God. She decided to pray and fast to seek God’s direction in the event. You see? A woman who is strong always, and I say will always seek the guidance and direction of God in EVERYTHING!

  • GENESIS 45:4-5

And Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come closer to me.” And they approached him. And he said, “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.  Now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to save life and preserve our family.

Don’t you cry every time you read the story of Joseph? I do! – It’s one of the most encouraging and moving stories in the bible.  As you know Joseph was thrown the cistern, sold by his brothers, was a slave, and was in jail (read the whole story here).  The picture did not look very encouraging for Joseph. But in this verse we can see that despite the processes in his life (difficult) Joseph did not lose his identity and knew to recognize for what God had raised him.

A woman who recognizes her identity and who is in God will never allow the difficult processes of life to change that identity and the dreams of God in her. On the contrary, she will wait on God until the fulfillment of His purpose on her.

This verse teaches us the power of forgiveness and we women are emotional. We must be careful with the wounds of the heart and allow God to heal all our wounds. Forgiveness gives you power and authority and frees you completely. This will make you a strong woman in God. Do not let pass the opportunity to forgive when it is God’s perfect time to do it.

Finally,  Be a woman like Mary (Martha’s sister) who sat at the feet of her Master to receive from Him that vital and important part that says the word will NEVER BE TAKEN AWAY FROM HER.  Intimacy with God makes us stronger every day.  We have multiple hats in life and many responsibilities, but we must discern what things are really a priority, and our relationship with God for sure, it is!

3 Things To Remember While Waiting

I stumbled across the story of Hannah recently during my devotional time. I’ve read the story before, but that particular morning I saw it with fresh eyes.

You can find her prayer in 1 Samuel 1:10-11.  Here are 3 things I learned from Hannah about waiting.

3 things to remember while waiting

3 Things To Remember While Waiting

1. Don’t turn away from God.

Verse 10 tells us Hannah was experiencing “deep anguish” and she “wept bitterly.” But through all of her grief, she continued to pray. She never allowed her hurt or sense of loss and grief cause her to turn from God. She trusted Him and believed He would one day answer her prayer.

2. Be specific.

Verse 11 tells us Hannah was specific in her prayers. She prays “Oh Lord…give Your maidservant a male child.” She did not pray for just any child…she prayed for a son. Only a son could take care of her after her husband died.

James 4:2b states “You do not have because you do not ask God.” Even though God knows what we’re thinking and what we desire, we demonstrate faith when we specifically ask for what we need.

3. Be prepared for any response.

The last thing Hannah teaches us in this prayer is a little tough to hear. Even though she prayed, trusted God to hear her and was specific, she was prepared to hear a response other than yes. In verse 10, she starts her prayer with “Lord Almighty, if …”

IF

It’s such a small word, but it packs a major punch. “IF” was Hannah’s way of acknowledging that she trusted God regardless of the outcome.

We must remember that God is sovereign. We must trust His plan for our lives even IF we can’t understand what He’s doing.

Proverbs 13:12 tells us:

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”

“When” is not on our timeline. “When” is up to the Lord. “When” might look different than we expect. But “when” we trust in God, His plan will be our tree of life.

Hold fast to Him and know that He is with you…regardless of the outcome.

Until next time…be well…be encouraged.

5 Bible Verses that will make you Stronger as a Mom

For some women the month of May it is a celebration for others it is a challenge. However, there is a treasure in the word of God for all those mothers who every day need a reminder and encouragement to continue their important work in the earth.  But, being a mother or not, I want you to treasure these 5 bible verses that will make you stronger as a mom.

3 lies the enemy tells you and the truth that will set you free copy

5 bible verses that will make you stronger as a mom.

1 Corinthians 1:27
But God has selected [for His purpose] the foolish things of the world to shame the wise [revealing their ignorance], and God has selected [for His purpose] the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong [revealing their frailty].

With this verse I’m not saying you are foolish, I’m saying God chose you with a purpose; to manifest His Glory in your life.  God uses you as woman and as a mother to reveal His Glory through your life.

Genesis 3:20 The man named his wife Eve (life spring, life giver), because she was the mother of all the living.

We should feel blessed and that we carry a great purpose of God in us.  Eve is the name for the first woman that means: woman and mother of all the living.  Eve was the first woman, the first wife, the most beautiful… with a big purpose “to be the mother of all living”.  We were created to bring life!

John 15:13 No one has greater love [nor stronger commitment] than to lay down his own life for his friends.

In this verse we can see Jesus giving his life for us. Such is his love and commitment to the Father first and then to us. That same love is manifested in the heart of a mother, who is committed.  So if for some time you felt as if you were giving your life for your children and have been from the first day committed to their welfare, feel blessed because you have the strength in you to carry out that task.

5 Bible Verses that will make you stronger as a Mom 2

2 Corinthians 12:10
So I am well pleased with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, and with difficulties, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak [in human strength], then I am strong [truly able, truly powerful, truly drawing from God’s strength].

There is no better way to renew our strength than to declare ourselves strong in God. For the task of being mothers, wives, businesswomen among others, we need to take the strength of God to efficiently fulfill each task.  Declare yourself strong in Christ!

Proverbs 31:10 An excellent woman [one who is spiritual, capable, intelligent, and virtuous], who is he who can find her? Her value is more precious than jewels and her worth is far above rubies or pearls.

This is one of my favorites verses, because it shows us the way of the wise woman, which is spiritual.  A woman who is spiritual is because takes her time to spend time with the Lord, asking for guidance and direction.  You are valuable more than jewels, rubies and pearls.  That value comes from the Lord, don’t forget it!

What will make you stronger?

  • Remember that you have a purpose.
  • Remember you was created to give life.
  • Remember your love and commitment is example for Jesus loves for us.
  • Remember to declare your are strong in the Lord.
  • Remember to spend time with God.
  • Remember you are valuable.

How To Replace Fear With Faith In Your Life

The word says in Hebrews 11:6 that without faith it is impossible to please God. Many times we face daily situations that cause us fear. We have all experienced fear. However, the word tells us that perfect love casts out fear. So we have a way to replace fear with faith. A faith that pleases God. Let’s walk this journey!

How to replace fear with faith in your life

How to replace fear with faith in your life

Las week I started reading a book called “Women Who Move Mountains” by Sue Detweiler. An excellent book, which while reading it, it was confronting my inner being. Many questions began to emerge from me about my faith, my fears, and where my confidence in the difficult moments was really grounded.

In one of the chapters she shares that whenever we make the decision to trust God fully, it is when we change or replace our fear with faith.  Not only in some moment or situations, but everyday!

The Dictionary of Bible Themes defines faith as:

A constant outlook of trust towards God, whereby human beings abandon all reliance on their own efforts and put their full confidence in him, his word and his promises.

Our moments of greatest fear may be the opportunities for God to manifest His power and His glory in us and for our faith to be strengthened and to take root in God alone. We can not overcome fear if we trust in ourselves or in man. We can only replace fear by relying fully on God’s promises, provision, and care for us.

Praying is a key for replacing fear with faith

Each time you feel fear in a situation, pray to God confidently knowing that He will give you a solution to your problem. But you must trust in his provision. Remember that God has full knowledge of your past, present and future and knows what is best for you. In this way we can place our trust in the one who knows everything about us and sees the path we are going to follow first than ourselves.

Are you prepared today to replace your fear for faith? What situation should you put today in prayer before God? Are you walking in faith?

Praying Through The Healing Process

There have been so many times that in my suffering my heart wandered from the Lord.

Why is it that in times of need, we tend to run from the One who can truly heal us?

I’ve feared that He won’t answer. I’ve felt abandoned and betrayed. I’ve tried to create hope for myself where hope was lost.

Praying Through The Healing Process

I’ve looked for a faster answer elsewhere and every time I came up empty, I returned to the Lord in the same broken place – in need of healing and hope.

When we face brokenness the Lord is the only one who can truly mend our wounds.

I had to accept that the healing process might not look like I’d envisioned.

It was only then that I found the courage and the strength to approach God with boldness.

Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. -Hebrews 4:16

When we approach the Lord, trusting His goodness and His working, our hearts will be truly opened for the healing transformation and redemption God longs for us to have.

When I finally surrendered my picture of what healing looked like, my heart was opened to healing more beautiful than anything I’d ever imagined.

God opened my heart to this new picture through dedicated prayer.

I had to hit my knees and fold my hands so many times before my heart was softened.

I prayed in surrender more times than I can count before I truly felt myself release my hold on these expectations.

Prayer doesn’t need to wait until our feelings are all set in place. Prayer takes place before we even know where to begin.

Before we can see the final picture, before we feel like surrendering, before we feel the healing, we must offer our hearts to God in prayer.

I find it helpful in these times to write down prayers. I write short prayers of surrender or asking for healing and hope. When I don’t have the words to say, I utter these small prayers.

God knows what we are able to give. Search your heart for areas you may be holding back in prayer. Ask God to reveal these areas to you.

When we offer our hearts to God in prayer, He brings us healing beyond anything we can imagine.
