One project I wanted to start during this season was making my own prayer journal. But I wanted to make this project a “do it yourself project”. I wanted to take my time, step by step and enjoy the process.

While I work in this prayer journal I want to share with my readers the process and how I’ve been doing until I finished. So, here is a little bit about how you can make your very own prayer journal.

Make your own prayer journal:

First, I started decorating the front of the journal. What materials I used?
I got a notebook at Dollar Tree for $1 on my last trip to Orlando, Florida. Isn’t that amazing? To find so many things at super low prices at the Dollar Tree Stores?

Well, once I got my notebook… I found on Pinterest a free printable for bible journaling and got an extra sheet printed at my local school supply store to decorate my journal. I found out this printable so lovely and beautiful that I decided to use it for my journal.

I bought an assorted patterned paper pack at Yarisi&Co, that I wanted to get for a long time ago. Finally bought them! This pack comes with more than 50 assorted papers (different patterns and sizes) perfect for crafts projects.

I had some washi tape that I also used to decorate the journal.

Finally, used some paper pieces and tabs from Illustrated Faith that I already had. Here is a picture, you can see how I used all these materials. I just got creative! At the end of this post you can see all the links for the materials 😉

The tittle of my prayer journal is “Jesus, my first love”. Oohh… I also used some stamps at the end from Illustrated Faith too.

The bible tabs I used includes words like “love, passion, believe…” I thought they were very aligned with what I wanted to create. I just love the final touch they gave them to my journal.

As you can see, this is just the front of the journal. In the following posts I will sharing the other pages and how I decorated them. Stay tuned for the development of this project. Hope this motivates you to create your very own prayer journal. Also, I hope this gives you some ideas on how to start it.

The Book of Matthew from Alabaster Co.

One of my favorites books from the bible is Matthew. Matthew gives me along with the book of John a detailed story of the life of our Saviour Jesus. There is a book that combines the Word of God and art, photography, illustration.

One of my favorites books from the bible is Matthew. Matthew gives me along with the book of John a detailed story of the life of our Saviour Jesus. There is a book that combines the Word of God and art, photography, illustration.

It caught my attention to study the Gospel of Matthew along with very descriptive pictures giving me a more clearer idea of what I am reading.

I share with you today, a review of the Book of Matthew by Alasbaster Co. First of all, what is Alabaster Co and what they do?

Alabaster Co. began late one night when friends Bryan Chung and Brian Chung were deep in discussion on creativity and God. Reflecting on the direction culture was taking toward visual images, innovation and design, an idea was born: create a brand passionate about fully exploring the intersection of creativity, beauty, and faith.

I love this concept and the story behind it is one my favorites from the bible. When a woman breaks an alabaster jar… you can read it at Mark 14:1-9. Read more about Alabaster Co HERE!

Alabaster Co, brings the books of the bible with amazing illustrations (beautiful images) in each book. I’ve used this book along with my bible and dictionary in my study time. I loved it!

While studying and doing some bible journaling it helped me to expand my creativity while drawing in my bible.

Whit this, you won’t need to draw or paint, just cut and decorate your bible. There are plenty of colors, prints, patterns and sizes to choose.

These are my favorite. I have a set since I started bible journaling. Very easy to use, smooth writing, just perfect for lettering too.

With this you don’t to spend lots of time doing a page. Just choose the paper pieces you need and that’s it. This is one of my favorites.

They are affordable and gives a bit of color without any mess. I use the Prismacolor ones. But any colored pencils will help.

Ok, on this one there is going to be a little bit more work that the others. But, using watercolor paint or pencils in bible journaling is great. So much possibilities! So much fun too! Let your creativity flourish!

There are plenty of tools you can use for bible journaling, but if you are running low on time and still you want to separate a moment for bible journaling and studying the Word these tools can help you. They are so easy to use and affordable too!
