Throughout the years I have always liked to keep and write reflections in notebooks. I never had a diary, but I have been writing about special moments and not so good throughout my life. Several years ago I decided to buy a few notebooks to write down my prayers, among other things. Understanding that it is necessary to keep a record of those constant prayers in which we wait patiently for a response from God. Today, I want to share with you how we can (according to my experience) make the best use of a prayer journal.
First, one of the best uses we can give a prayer journal is to keep a record of our prayers. When we set our hearts to pray sometimes for multiple requests, we can forget what we have prayed for. Writing our prayers is the first thing we should do.
Second, maintaining a record of answered prayers is one of the uses for our prayer journal. Many times we are in public places, in the church or any other place and because there are no limits to God, He can speak to us and answer our prayers at any moment. We must write it down.

If you are a prayer person, you have already experienced the request of prayers from others around you. In my prayer journal, I have a section where I write down those prayer requests that people make me daily. So I do not forget any of them as I’m compromising myself to pray for them.
Also, we can take in our prayer journal those victories that God has given us through prayer. We can include a section of worship, praise and give thanks to God for all of them.
All of these methods or practices have helped me to make good and best use of my prayer journal. I’m still learning in the process. This is not about perfection but about a relationship with God.

I love keeping a prayer journal so I can look back and see the promises God has come through for me. While I know He will provide, it’s awesome to see all the ways He has in one place.

I used to use a prayer journal all the time. It helps me focus and not be “all over the place” in my prayers. I really should get back in the habit!

I don’t keep a prayer journal specifically. I do keep a journal that is spiritual and what I am learning in the scriptures and through prayer.

Love these ideas. I especially love the idea of writing down answered prayers. So helpful for us to look back over and see tangible evidence of God throughout each moment.

Honestly, you’ve just encouraged me to do something I’ve been meaning to do for a while. Really need a journal! I also get scriptures from my Pastor every now and then and it’s good to have a journal that I can easily refer back to instead of checking his texts/messages. Thanks for this.

I haven’t had a prayer journal in so long. It would help to keep your ongoing and newcoming prayers in order. Most of my journals are filled with poetry. I guess it’s time to buy a new journal. 😉
