Continuing with the bible journaling challenge and the study of some bible verses, today I want to share with you a short reflection about the Word of God. Plus, I want to show you some tips about how to use washi tape for bible journaling.
The verse that we are studying is Isaiah 55:11 that says:
So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.
God speaks and send His word with a purpose to be accomplished. The word of God is our food, is our light, is a two-edged sword. It has so many descriptions and purpose for us. That’s why we must learn it, meditate in it and live it. (Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 119:103)
The Word of God it is true, it is infallible, it is eternal, it is sweet and delightful and it is irrevocable. It is describes as the sword of the Spirit, living and active, living and enduring. (Psalm 33:4, Proverbs 30:15, Psalm 119:89)
We can be build up with the word. We can receive comfort and strength with the word. It brings growth to our lives.
This gives us a powerful reason to study, to meditate and trust in His word and promises for us. That’s why we journal is our bibles in the first place. Not because of the colors, or the paint, or the lettering. But, about what we learn every day, when we put the scriptures as a priority in our lives. What do you do with the scriptures? Do you read it only or you live it?
We are in our third day in our Bible Journaling Challenge. Here’s a few tips about how to use washi tape for this purpose. I decided to work this entry with washi tape only and some Illustrated Faith die cuts / tabs, as you can see in this picture below. I have to say, I love using washi tape in every entry. It gives my pages some uniqueness.

What you can do with the washi tape?
- You can use it to identify a verse, as I did with arrow washi tape.
- You can use them to decorate the bible.
- You can use them as a help to hold the tabs.
- You can use them to mark a page in the bible.
- Or as a substitute for the bible tabs
Finally, you can give multiple uses to washi tape in your journaling, and the best of all is that they are re-positionable! – Give it a try!

What a fun idea, Tayrina. I’ve never thought to use the washi tape in my Bible. Great idea. — I think this is the first time we’ve crossed paths — nice to meet you! I use washi tape on my bullet planner. I use a different color for each month to help me separate out the months. It’s such a fun little thing, washi tape. 🙂 Thanks for sharing with #ChasingCommunity today, Tayrina — Welcome! ((hug))
