Prayer is the way we communicate with God. Is the platform where we ask God to fullfil our needs. Is how we claim God to set us free from our enemies. Today, I want to share with you 3 of my favorite verses about prayer. This verses guide us to be more effective in prayer. Let’s see!
3 verses about prayer you should know
1. Matthew 6:9-13 says:
“Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we have forgiven our debtors letting go of both the wrong and the resentment. ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.]’
In this verse we can see how Jesus taught his disciples about how to pray. This is an example for us too! We learn from this that we don’t only express our feelings and needs in our prayers, but that we must pray asking for the will of God to be manifested in our lives.
2. Matthew 21:22 says:
And whatever you ask for in prayer, believing, you will receive.
3. Mark 11:24 says:
For this reason I am telling you, whatever things you ask for in prayer [in accordance with God’s will], believe [with confident trust] that you have received them, and they will be given to you.
This lead us to ask ourselves, what are the true motives of our prayer? Are we praying following our own desires or are we looking for the will of God? – We must pray asking for the will of God to be revealed and manifested to us. Including, praying believing that the purpose of God will be completed in us.
We must pray in accordance to God’s will and purpose. These 3 verses give us a correct view and focus about how we should pray. God takes care of us and knows every need we have, let’s take our time to pray for God’s will to be done in earth as it is in heaven.
