For the Woman who prays for a Child

Maybe while you read this post you are living this experience. Perhaps you have already lived the experience and you are the women who are now praying for a child. If you lived the experience or you are going through the process, I know what you are living and feeling. I am a woman who prays for a son the same as you.

For the Woman who prays for a Child

A woman may have several reasons why she can not get pregnant. It can be due to physical or genetic problems, among others. No matter the reasons, every woman who has gone through this brings with it an emotional load that is often found in the depths of her being.

Some women speak it and express it with their family or friends. Others only pray to God so that the longing of their heart is answered. There is a woman in the Bible who prayed with bitterness of spirit for a son. She was wise enough to recognize that if she prayed to God He would answer her request. Not only that, but she knew that she should leave his emotional load on the altar.

That woman is Hannah.

Hannah inspires you and me to wait patiently for God. It teaches us that we should pray and pray and pray until our request is answered by Him. If we pray we must be prepared to receive God’s response in different ways. God can heal us, God can bring life to our wombs, God can open doors and opportunities for adoption, God can do as He wants to do in our lives.

For the Woman who prays for a Child 2

If we long and patiently wait for His perfect will for us, He will surely put into our hands what we desire in His time.

My experience has been, long times of prayer and waiting, pouring out my heart, my sadness, my anguish and my yearnings on the altar with God. He alone can fill my voids, He alone can bring answers to my prayer. If you are a woman who prays for a child, surely God will answer your prayer. You will not know how, nor when but you can receive healing in your soul and your emotions in His presence.

But Hannah answered, “No, my lord, I am a woman with a despairing spirit. I have not been drinking wine or any intoxicating drink, but I have poured out my soul before the Lord….. So the woman went on her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad. (1 Samuel 1-28)

Do not give up to your prayer, do not give up to your faith, do not surrender in your dreams.  Always remember that God has plans of good for your life. Do not give up!

How To Make The Best Use Of A Prayer Journal

Throughout the years I have always liked to keep and write reflections in notebooks. I never had a diary, but I have been writing about special moments and not so good throughout my life. Several years ago I decided to buy a few notebooks to write down my prayers, among other things. Understanding that it is necessary to keep a record of those constant prayers in which we wait patiently for a response from God.  Today, I want to share with you how we can (according to my experience) make the best use of a prayer journal.

How to make the best use of a prayer journal

First, one of the best uses we can give a prayer journal is to keep a record of our prayers. When we set our hearts to pray sometimes for multiple requests, we can forget what we have prayed for. Writing our prayers is the first thing we should do.

Second, maintaining a record of answered prayers is one of the uses for our prayer journal. Many times we are in public places, in the church or any other place and because there are no limits to God, He can speak to us and answer our prayers at any moment. We must write it down.

If you are a prayer person, you have already experienced the request of prayers from others around you. In my prayer journal, I have a section where I write down those prayer requests that people make me daily.  So I do not forget any of them as I’m compromising myself to pray for them.

Also, we can take in our prayer journal those victories that God has given us through prayer. We can include a section of worship, praise and give thanks to God for all of them.

All of these methods or practices have helped me to make good and best use of my prayer journal. I’m still learning in the process. This is not about perfection but about a relationship with God.

I have created a free printable prayer journal for all my subscribers! – If you subscribe to receive the posts of my blog you will receive in your inbox a free beautiful PRAYER JOURNAL that includes:

How to give it all over to God and don’t give up

How to give it all over to God and dont give up

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4: 12-13

Have you ever felt at the end of your rope? Circumstances seem too hard. You lift your hands up and cry to Heaven, “I give up! I cannot possibly do this!” I have been there many times.

This past year, I was very discouraged about my weight.  Being unhealthy and a bad example to my children, I prayed that God would help me change. Yet, I began to try to change on my own. Counting calories and exercising proved to be so challenging.  The scale, my enemy, didn’t seem to budge.

Finally, earnestly through prayer, I truly seeked God’s guidance. Throwing up my hands, my health was given over to the Lord. He directed me to a new healthier lifestyle that I had been hesitant to try.  Letting God work through the change, both my husband and I lost about 40 lbs each.

Health, pursuing something new, or just life in general can be enough to make a person scream and want to give up. However, when things become burdensome, we should give them over to God, allowing Him to work through them for His glory.

How to give it all over to God and don’t give up?

Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to move. Psalm 55:22

*Lay Your Burdens at the feet of God.

Instead of giving up, take your worry to Christ. Ask for guidance. This may be hard. You may want to be in control. However, let God take your burden and give you new strength.

*Take Action.

Allow God to direct your next steps. If your circumstances is God-ordained, God will direct you how to proceed through Him, taking your burden from your shoulders. If it is not what God wants, He will take you in a new direction. This may be something you never even dreamed of. Don’t be scared.

*Give all glory to God.

My weight loss was something I thought I never could do. Yet, it was only because of God that I lost weight and began a healthier lifestyle. When God takes a hold of your situation, stay focused on Him and give Him the credit and the glory He deserves.

To the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever. Psalm 30:12

How to take a step towards freedom

How to take a step towards freedom

We have been studying these past few weeks about freedom in the light of the word of God. It is wonderful to be able to appreciate how free we can be in Christ. We have discovered that God has called us to be free, that we can be free and serve God in complete freedom. Now, what happens to those who truly need to take the step to freedom and the abundant life that Jesus offers us? Today we will reflect on how we can take a step towards freedom.

The Bible exhorts us to walk in the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom! Hallelujah! – Continuing with our last week of Bible study, Galatians 5: 1 tells us:

It was for this freedom that Christ set us free [completely liberating us]; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery [which you once removed]. (AMP)

We can be free in different areas of our life. One of them is freedom of law, traditions and religiosity.  This verse tells us that if we have received Jesus as our savior and Lord, then we have received the freedom of the law of which we were slave before. Now we are sheltered under grace. Grace upon grace. However, this grace is not authorization for debauchery and sin. On the contrary, it requires sanctification and consecration to God.

How can we take a step towards the freedom to which we have been called? Well, stand firm in the grace and freedom that we live now, thanks to Jesus.  Standing FIRM as says in the verse means to:

Stay where you are,  because of the benefit of being free from law and the flesh as a way of salvation and the fullness of blessing by grace. We have received deliverance!  Stay where you are, DO NOT take a step back.

How to take a step towards freedom 2

We must make appropriate use of our freedom. Freedom granted us by God to do good works, to serve God, to love the neighbor and to do justice.

Are you taking a step towards freedom today? It is free in the name of Jesus!

We have finished our Bible study on freedom. It has been a wonderful time in the presence of God. See you soon in a new study. Here I leave a gift from me as a reminder of the freedom that Jesus has given you.  Enjoy it!

How to wait in the Lord and His promises

How to wait in the Lord and His promises

Waiting in the Lord is one of the most difficult things we can do, but it is one of the safest things for us. Perhaps, you have received promises in your life from God and today you are still waiting to receive them. Today I want to talk to you about how we can expect and wait in the Lord and His promises.

How to wait in the Lord and His promises

When we wait on the promises of God, we are waiting for God to move his hand in our behalf.  We are waiting to see the fulfillment of his promises in our life. Waiting on God is nothing but patience. And the bible speaks to us about patience.  According to the Dictionary of Bible Themes, patience is:

The quality of forbearance and self-control which shows itself particularly in a willingness to wait upon God and his will. Believers are called upon to be patient in their expectations of God’s actions, and in their relationships with one another.

We must be willing to wait patiently in the Lord. But, this is not about how much or little we can wait, but our attitude while we wait. This is the key to how we can expect in God.

How to wait in the Lord and His promises 2

The Amplified Bible says in Galatians 5:22 that:

But the fruit of the Spirit [the result of His presence within us] is love [unselfish concern for others], joy, [inner] peace, patience [not the ability to wait, but how we act while waiting], kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Patience is one of the fruit of the Spirit and I love how this version refers to the word.  It says, that patience is NOT the ability to wait, BUT HOW WE ACT WHILE WAITING.

How powerful is this! – Sometimes we wait in the Lord, but we wait and complain. Sometimes we wait, but we fight with God.  Sometimes we wait, but we forget to put it as a priority in our life.  Sometimes we wait, but we completely forget His promises.

If this is how we act while waiting, I do not believe that we can grow and mature in God, much less we are demonstrating that we fully trust His perfect will for us.

The question is: HOW ARE YOU ACTING WHILE YOU WAIT ON GOD?
